কয়রা, খুলনায় অবস্থানরত প্রবল ঘূর্ণিঝড় "রিমাল” উত্তর দিকে অগ্রসর ও দুর্বল হয়ে স্থল গভীর নিম্নচাপ হিসাবে বর্তমানে যশোর ও । তৎসংলগ্ন এলাকায় অবস্থান করছে। এটি আরো উত্তরপূর্ব দিকে অগ্রসর হয়ে ক্রমশঃ বৃষ্টিপাত ঝড়িয়ে স্থল নিম্নচাপে পরিণত হবে।
পায়রা ও মোংলা সমুদ্রবন্দরকে ১০ (দশ) নম্বর মহাবিপদ সংকেত নামিয়ে তার পরিবর্তে ০৩ (তিন) নম্বর স্থানীয় সতর্ক সংকেত দেখিয়ে যেতে বলা হয়েছে।
কক্সবাজার ও চট্টগ্রাম সমুদ্রবন্দরকে ৯ (নয়) নম্বর মহাবিপদ সংকেত নামিয়ে তার পরিবর্তে ০৩ (তিন) নম্বর স্থানীয় সতর্ক সংকেত দেখিয়ে যেতে বলা হয়েছে।

উত্তরপশ্চিম বঙ্গোপসাগর ও তৎসংলগ্ন এলাকায় অবস্থানরত প্রবল ঘূর্ণিঝড় "রিমাল" উত্তর দিকে অগ্রসর হয়ে একই এলাকায় অবস্থান করছে। এটি আজ (২৬ মে ২০২৪) বিকাল ০৩ টায় চট্টগ্রাম সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ৩২৫ কি.মি. দক্ষিণপশ্চিমে, কক্সবাজার সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ৩১০ কি.মি. দক্ষিণপশ্চিমে, মোংলা সমুদ্র বন্দর থেকে ২০০ কি.মি. দক্ষিণে এবং পায়রা সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ১৮০ কি.মি. দক্ষিণে অবস্থান করছিল। বাংলাদেশের উপকূলীয় এলাকায় প্রবল ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের অগ্রভাগের প্রভাবে বৃষ্টিসহ দমকা/ ঝড়ো হাওয়া অব্যাহত রয়েছে। এটি আরও উত্তর দিকে অগ্রসর হয়ে আজ (২৬ মে ২০২৪) সন্ধ্যা ০৬টা থেকে পরবর্তী ৩-৪ ঘন্টার মধ্যে মোংলার নিকট দিয়ে সাগর আইল্যান্ড (পশ্চিমবঙ্গ)- খেপুপাড়া উপকূল অতিক্রম করতে পারে। প্রবল ঘূর্ণিঝড়টির কেন্দ্র অতিক্রমের পর এর নিম্নভাগ অতিক্রম অব্যাহত থাকবে।

The severe cyclonic storm "Remal" over northwest bay and adjoining area moved northwards over the same area and was centred at 03 pm today (26 may 2024) is about 325 kms southwest of Chattogram port, 310 kms Southwest of Cox's Bazar port, 200 kms south of Mongla port and 180 kms south of Payra port. Under the peripheral effect of the severe cyclone, gusty/squally wind with rain is continuing over coastal regions of Bangladesh. It is likely to move in a northerly direction and may cross Sagar Island (West Bengal) - Khepupara coast near Mongla by 3-4 hrs from 06 pm today (26 may 2024). After crossing the center of severe cyclonic storm, rest part of the system may continue to cross.
