Multi-Actor Platform (MAP) Climate and Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance (CDRFI)
AOSED in collaboration with CARE Bangladesh is implementing the BMZ funded 3-year ‘Multi-Actor-Partnerships (MAPs) on Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance (CDRFI) programme in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh . Bangladesh as a part of this multi-country consortium project led by CARE Germany in cooperation with Germanwatch where the other countries will be Caribbean (Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Dominica, St. Lucia), Malawi, Madagascar, Senegal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, including a regional and global focus. The multi-country project under the InsuResilience Global Partnership (IGP), looks for a more comprehensive application of the poverty focused principles in a way that the CDRFI mechanisms established or under design focus on piloting (where they lack), advancing and scaling up approaches which are really adapted to the needs of the poor and vulnerable populations (indirect target group) and are poverty-focused, gender-equitable and human rights-based.
The Bangladesh segment of the project aims to strengthen the structures, coordination and networking of MAP cooperating organizations and partners to promote a poverty-focused, gender-responsive and human rights-based CDRFIs nationally and internationally with insights and recommendations from the affected community, public sector, duty bearers as well as related private sectors from the target districts Bagerhat and Satkhira and Khulna as a division.
